Montreal-Ottawa AGM

This is the new combined Montreal-Ottawa Commandery’s inaugural Annual General Meeting.

Location: La Maison Louis-Joseph Forget, 1195 Sherbrooke St. W, Montreal, Quebec H3A 1H9

RSVP: Please reply by October 15 to Lori Halfper (lori.halfper1@gmail.com) to secure your spot.  Indicate your choice of meal:  Pork (Quebec pork tenderloin marinated in Pinot grigio, prosciutto and fresh sage) or vegetarian.

ACCESSIBILITY:  We have identified an alternate entrance for members who are unable to manage stairs.  Please let us know if you require the accessible entrance when you RSVP.

HOTEL: We have booked a group of rooms at the Best Western Ville-Marie (a three-minute walk to the Maison Forget). 10 rooms have been blocked on November 1st 2025: One Queen bed: $145.00 single/double plus tax.You can reserve a room as follows:

 The block of rooms at this rate will be held until October 20th, 2025.  The group discount will not be applied to any reservations made after this day.

COST:  The cost for the event and meal is $125 per person.   This rate is on par with the costs set by other commanderies. A  cash bar will be available.

  • Keynote address: Dr. Sarah Lockyer is the Casualty Identification Coordinator for the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces. She manages the Casualty Identification Program and is the Program’s forensic anthropologist. Dr. Lockyer works to identify the newly discovered skeletal remains of possible Canadian service members killed in action during the First and Second World Wars, and the Korean Conflict, so that they may be buried with their name, by their unit, and in the presence of family. 

DRESS: Formal/black tie, with neck decorations/equivalent and miniature medals. Members of the rank of Knight/Dame and above to wear mantles to the prayer service/elevation portion of the event. (Business suit is an acceptable alternative).
